Designer and furniture maker John Makepeace and horticulturalist Jenny Makepeace invite you to their inspirational historic house and garden, which has featured in many publications and on Gardeners’ World John will be talking about his approach in designing furniture for his international clientele as well as an exciting house currently being built in Guernsey.

The house has many examples of John’s acclaimed furniture, including prototype chairs from previous commissions, and their collection of contemporary artworks There are four areas of the garden which include Jenny’s colourful potager, cleft oak fruit cage, glasshouse and straw-bale retreat This adjoins John’s evolving grass garden, rolling lawns, sculptures and topiary.

Visitors are requested to remove their shoes when entering the house. You are welcome to spend time drawing in the grounds, please bring your own equipment, although we will have pencils and postcards available You may bring a picnic - to be eaten outside only!
