Who We Are
Dorset Art Weeks is run by Dorset Visual Arts (DVA), a registered charity (1113249), established in 2006.
DVA has a membership of over 250 artists, designers and makers who live and, or work in Dorset. DVA recognises that artists and makers have different interests and needs in developing their work and careers, particularly in a mainly rural county. DVA are here to support visual artists and makers at all stages of their career, through a variety of activities. Mission Statement
Dorset Art Weeks (DAW) is a two-week event celebrating contemporary visual arts and crafts, inviting the public to explore artists' studios, workshops, group shows, and curated exhibitions throughout Dorset.
DAW aims to promote the creation of original works of art and craft, offering the public a unique opportunity to engage with the arts by meeting artists, observing their creative processes, and experiencing their work firsthand. The event welcomes all artists and makers, from passionate amateurs to established professionals, working across various mediums.
The artistic contributions of Dorset's visual artists are crucial in promoting cultural tourism and supporting local businesses and the wider community.
