Weekend Throwing Course May 23rd & 24th (10am-4pm) 

Learn the traditional craft of throwing on the potters wheel!
A two day course suitable for beginners and improvers. You’ll learn the fundamentals of how to cone and centre, pull up the walls and alter shape. Guided step-by-step through the process we start with cylinders (cups) and bowls.  
In the afternoon you’ll learn how to form the clay to make different shapes including jugs with spouts,  working at your own pace. The second day you will to trim and turn foot rings and refine the shape of your pots.

Raku Firing Ceramics June 7th (10am-1pm) 

Experience the Japanese art of Raku firing! Choose from a selection of pre-made biscuit fired pots to decorate with special effect glazes. Work together to load and fire the Raku kiln. Watch as your pots are fired, and taken out of the kiln red hot! Use reduction techniques to alter the glazes, or apply horse hair and feathers to your still warm pots. Finally give your glazed ceramics a wash to reveal the transformation.
